Security and Back-Up Systems

Fisher BioServices is committed to protecting your materials.  At a minimum, our repositories have intrusion detection that alerts security as the intruder enters.  The exterior perimeters are typically monitored by video cameras.  Repository, pharmacy, and laboratory doors have card readers so that access is granted (and recorded) on an employee-specific basis.  The system also controls access to freezers and other cold storage units.  The main entrances to our facilities are locked at all times, and the reception desk is always staffed during business hours.

Our facilities are protected from fire by sprinkler systems that automatically call the local fire station on activation.  Select areas of our facilities are protected by inergen or a similar chemical suppression system.  FBS can also provide customized fire protection solutions.

Every Fisher BioServices facility is equipped with both uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems and one or more back-up generators that activate automatically in the event of a power outage.  Our generators supply the lights, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), temperature monitoring systems, computers, security systems, and telephones, as well as the cold storage units.
